Airjack – It is, possibly, a futuristic tool closely related to the present-day pneumatic drill/jackhammer. In Portrait in Death, Eve heard the sound of an airjack over Trueheart’s communicator and had Feeney look up the locations of street crews.[1] From Promises in Death, “... stone dust kicked up from the crew that attacked a wide chunk of sidewalk with airjacks.”[2] In Rapture in Death, automated jackhammers were tearing up the streets.[3] In Desperation in Death, Dorian Gregg woke up “with her head pounding like an airjack.”[4]
