• She was walking from her parents’ home towards town, to bring López lunch, when three men attacked her - she was raped, beaten, strangled, and left naked by the river.
• The men were eventually tried, convicted, and executed, after they did the same thing to another woman (there was one before her as well).

Interesting Facts

• She came to López in a vision two years later to tell him to let her go, it was a sin to lose himself. She sent him on a pilgrimage, which led to him becoming a priest.
