- She and her wife were in Adelaide, Australia for three weeks, with another week to go, because her wife was working on a bio of Marcus Novack, who built schools and health centers in the Outback.
- They were charter members of Femme Power, a lesbian-based activist group. They also belonged to a book club that was mostly women and helped out at a couple of shelters for battered women and rape victims. She also taught art as therapy, as an outlet for self.
- She did bad (but not horrible) watercolors, but it made her happy.
