Battle of the Bands – An annual music contest designed to give bands a chance to play to real audiences. Each group performed three songs, with originals chalking up extra points from the panel of three judges. Bands included rockers, poppers, thrashers, and hick stompers, and the grand prize for winning ten thousand dollars, a guest shot on Here’s Talent, a professional production of a vid/disc, plus internet exposure.
In Random in Death, Arlie Dillon and some friends attended the final night, where the six finalists battled it out at Memorial Park in a free summer concert. Moses Rowe's friend played bass guitar and did vocals in Arrow, scheduled to be the last set of the night. Arlie was murdered during another finalist's set, an “all-girl band, Sisters, who rocked it into fricking orbit.”[1]
