Roarke’s main umbrella company that had multiple divisions, holdings, and various branches underneath its scope. Most of his other businesses were tied back to and were a part of Roarke Industries. Roarke Industries employed millions of people.[2]

  • Building in which Marlene Williamson resided in Desperation in Death. It is an upscale building, a midsize tower of steel and glass, with underground parking and a recently remodeled fitness center. There are three parking levels, the fitness center and indoor pool level, lobby, retail level, then twelve floors of residential, topped by a rooftop level. The lobby has glossy black flooring with little gold flecks, suiting the ultramodern art (all slashes and swirls of color), twisty black and gold metal lighting hugging the ceiling, and weird-ass flowers poking out of glass tubes. The night manager is named Rohan, and both Eve and Roarke are impressed with his efficiency. The apartments have exceptional soundproofing.[11]

  • A mid-level hotel, without a lot of frills; Roarke moved Bobby and Zana Lombard there in Memory in Death after Trudy was killed. It had security but it was subtle; Eve tells Roarke that he has a solid frontman in his lobby.[16]

  • Also called The Regency Hotel[38], owned by Roarke, but held by one of his subsidiaries[39], and used to host the charity function for the Canal Street Clinic, at which Eve Dallas laid a trap for Julianna Dunne in Reunion in Death[40]

The Green[]

  • Located in Dublin, Roarke bought it when he was about sixteen - it was the first piece of real estate he bought. It was a small, seedy hotel he financed by stealing a three-strand pearl necklace with a small ruby clasp and taking a ferry to Liverpool to hock it. He didn’t have enough money for the rehab, so Summerset took out a loan and in eight months they opened the Green, a small, elegant hotel marketed to tourists looking for personal service. Roarke had enough money to repay Summerset in a couple of years, but Summerset wouldn’t take the money and they own it together. He told Eve about this in Connections in Death.[41]

Hamptons Properties[]

  • Roarke owns a string of properties in the Hamptons that he rents out; mentioned in Judgment in Death.[42]

Health Conscience[]

  • A division of Roarke Enterprises, mentioned in Creation in Death[43]

BodyWorks[]

  • Fitness centers that are a subsidiary of Health Conscience; Gia Rossi worked as a personal trainer and instructor in their midtown location in Creation in Death[43], and there are branches throughout the world, including the one in Florida where Robert Lowell joined under the name 'Edward Nave,' with an address of the Miami Grand Opera House, five years ago, three months before the death of his first known victim in the state.[44]

  • Primarily, an import-export business involved in shipping, deliveries, and rapid transports. Roarke acquired Mercury about ten years ago (c. 2048) when it was a poorly organized and failing business.[54]
  • At one time Roarke did some smuggling through Mercury, but the business is clean now.[55]

There was a mass murder there in Delusion in Death, killing 84 people and injuring five others. Roarke purchased it three years before that.[68]

  • A small, exclusive, European-style hotel snuggled into New York almost like a secret. No sky-reaching towers or mile-wide lobby, no gilt-encased entrance, but elegant discretion. Samantha Gannon stayed there in Remember When) after Andrea Jacobs was found murdered in her home.[73]

The floor appeared to be some green glass, various levels, and an arbor over the bar. A swinging place with excellent food and service.[79]

  • Perhaps also called Starline Publishing, or Starline Publishing is a branch of Starline Incorporated. According to Remember When, it is a publishing company owned by Roarke and acquired the rights to publish Hot Rocks, a story about the Forty-seventh Street job (a diamond heist).[88]

  • Manufactures long-range scanners and is mentioned in Loyalty in Death.[96]

Villa de Lago[]

  • Located in Italy, it was the spa where Julianna Dunne, using the name Josephine Dorchester, went to pamper herself in Reunion in Death.[97] Roarke owned 51% of it[98]

Vulcan[]

  • An automotive company mentioned in Vendetta in Death because Darla Pettigrew owned a Vulcan Town Coach, which she used to transport men to and from her torture chamber in the house belonging to her grandmother, Eloise Callahan.[99]

The West Side[]

  • Located at 522 West Forty-third Street; the hotel where Jennie O’Leary was murdered by Liam Calhoun (3rd floor, 3rd door) in Vengeance in Death and Eve and Roarke met Kevin DeBlass. It is a small hotel with a public bar, owned by Roarke and projected to be refurbished.[100]
