Interesting Facts[]
- When she was eight, her parents divorced and her electrician father left to join the rodeo circuit, with limited success, for three years until injuries forced him to retire, and death took him at 48 from the effects of long-term drug and alcohol abuse. Her police officer mother moved to a house on the same block as her parents, her maternal grandparents. Her mother and cop grandfather were killed when she was fifteen in what was called the Stillwater Riots.
- Weeks after her grandmother died, her brother was brutally beaten, set upon by three men. The same night, after she left his bedside, she was raped at knifepoint. Both were set up by Alva’s husband, Garrett Wicker, and probably he had pictures taken to show Alva what would happen if she tried to get away or tell anybody about the abuse.
