- He and Sherry were among the people who knew Alan and Jenny Markum were planning to go ice skating at the Wollman Rink in Central Park the day Alan was killed by a sniper.
- The Markums were celebrating their fifth anniversary by recreating their first date, and Jenny was planning to tell Alan during pizza after skating that she was pregnant, which she had just found out. The only other person Jenny told about the planned outing was her mother.
