Closet Fairy

Eve, from the very beginning of her relationship with Roarke, has always been a bit flummoxed by Roarke’s knowledge and love of clothing. Once she and Roarke were married, she found herself with this enormous closet, and periodically, she will find things in her closet that she didn’t even know was there, and she thinks: “The Closet Fairy Strikes Again.” Below are the instances where Eve has been visited by the "Closet Fairy."

Reunion in Death

First day back from a long vacation, Eve was dressing for work. Roarke was helping because the jacket didn’t match the trousers, etc.

“Here.” After another dip into her closet, he came out with a pair of half-boots in rich chestnut brown leather.

“Where’d those come from?”

“The closet fairy.”

Thankless in Death

“It surprised her to find a pair of black shoes with a sparkly wedge-type heel. Shouldn’t surprise her, she thought as she veered into the quick change [from boots]. She never knew what the closet fairy would stick in there next.”

Secrets in Death

Eve was in the field contemplating why stores would have 60% off blowout sales on things like shoes when they could have just marked the shoes down to begin with.

“She glanced down at the boots currently on her feet, told herself not to think about it. Reminded herself those boots would likely see considerable mileage before the closet fairies disappeared them.”

Shadows in Death

Roarke instructed Eve about the difference between Black and Indigo, giving her a pair of indigo boots to wear with her indigo pants.

“She put on the boots—a new addition from the closet fairy—grabbed the jacket.”
