- Peabody said he was responsible for most of her nightmares. She said she liked his books because they had happy endings - good overcame evil - after a lot of blood, terror, death. She told Eve it was “sort of like us.”
- He saw Darryl Roy James and Ella-Loo Parsens’s van parked outside the night Dorian Kuper was abducted. He was at home, pacing in his writing studio, trying to figure out if the psychotic demon should disembowel the character or if flaying was more appropriate given the build-up.
- He thought maybe the Minnickers, who he called “the un-neighbors” had bought a new vehicle. He saw one person, all bundled up so he couldn’t tell the sex, with an armchair, standing outside on the street.
- He decided on the disemboweling and then proceeded to write right through the sacrificial rite.
