- She was slick and chic in her dark suit, her waving mahogany hair glossy.[3] She had long, graceful fingers.[4]
History[]
- She said she smothered Sharon, babied her, and indulged her. When Sharon moved to New York Richard and Elizabeth fought with her over it; Richard pleaded with her and Elizabeth threatened her.[5]
Interesting Facts[]
- A young, attractive, streamlined, successful attorney who headed her own law firm with her husband.[6] They had money and prestige.[7]
- Her parents were unnamed but they appeared at Sharon DeBlass’s funeral, as well.[3]
- She and her husband were proponents of the population adjustment theory; two parents, one offspring.[4] She said that Sharon’s profession was not one she dreamed of her daughter embracing; she said Sharon would not have talked with her.[8]
- She had asked Roarke to befriend Sharon. There was no one she trusted more than Roarke.[9] She said Roarke called her and told her that Eve would probably come to see her personally. He told Elizabeth that she’d find Eve competent, organized, and involved.[10]
- Elizabeth said Roarke was incapable of a senseless act and would never kill the defenseless. He might kill, she wouldn’t be surprised if he had, but he wouldn't have done what was done to Sharon.[10]
- Richard and Elizabeth had a two-story rosy brick home set on a sloping hill and flanked by trees. There was an expansive lawn, cherry trees, and the security gate was an artful symphony of curling iron. Visitors took an electric cart from the gate to the house, and, “where Roarke’s home had simply whispered money, this one said old money.”[11]
- Roarke took an interest in Kevin in Vengeance in Death and helped him get adopted by Richard and Elizabeth by making a “contribution” to the CPS.[12]
- Richard, Elizabeth, and Kevin came to meet Nixie (in Survivor in Death) to see if, maybe, she could be a part of their family.[13]
- Richard, Elizabeth, Kevin, and Nixie joined Eve, Roarke, and Roarke’s family for Thanksgiving in Thankless in Death.
