Macnamara, Ernestine
Appeared in Portrait in Death (August 8-15th, 2059)
Description[]
- She was tiny and dry and colorless, as though her one hundred and six years had leached her. But she shuffled around the room with some energy in her faded pink slippers, shooing or cooing at cats. Eve supposed Ernestine would be considered spry.[1]
- Her face was a tiny wrinkled ball set off by oversized teeth. Her wig - Eve hoped it was a wig - sat crookedly on top and was the color of bleached wheat.[1]
History[]
- In the 1960’s, Ernestine was a flower child; then she was a New Ager and Free-Ager. And whatever came along that looked like fun. She’d gone back to being a Catholic now.[2]
Interesting Facts[]
- There appeared to be a full dozen cats, and from the sounds Eve heard, some were very busy making more cats.[1]
- She asked to see Eve’s gun.[2]
- When she realized her van might have been used in a crime, her face flushed with pleasure.[3]
- Her son was a Mormon and lived in Utah; her daughter was Wiccan and lived in New Orleans; her sister Marian didn’t drive anymore.[4]
- Ernestine had a van with the same carpet that matched the fibers found on Rachel Howard and Kenby Sulu. She used her van to transport other little old ladies to church on Sundays (St. Ignatious [sic] for ten o’clock mass).[1]
