“The woman who walked in might have been stepping onto a vid set. She wore a long sweep of coat in popping red, a flowing scarf that bled that red into silvery grays. A sassy red beret topped a short, sleek wedge of black hair. Gray boots with high skinny heels ran up under the hem of the coat. She pulled off a pair of red-framed sunshades and revealed iced blue eyes that made an exotic contrast with smooth caramel skin. She tucked the shades into a gray bag the size of Pluto, took out a ’link with an ornate protective cover, and started recording the scene.^[2]
Also, Peabody rhapsodizes over her little black dress - “the cut, the material, and the really cute little buttons running all the way down the back.”^[3]

“She wore a hot pink lab coat over a pink-and-green striped dress that molded her tall, curvy body. She’d slicked her hair back into some sort of sleek twist that made her exotic eyes dominate the sharp-featured face. Her green, ice-pick heels sported tiny pink bows at the ankle straps.”^[11]
Her dress at Eve and Roarke’s holiday party: “hot, slick red in a long sleek column that hugged every curve. A side slit ran nearly to her hip, revealing a long, long, toned leg and jeweled heels that sparkled like the Christmas lights with each stride.” (Nadine recognized it as Valencia.) “[She] tossed back her hair - an explosion of caramel-and-gold curls.”^[4]

“She’d contained her hair in a sleek twist and wore short, sparkly dangles at her ears. Her lab coat matched the deep pink tone of her body-skimming dress. Her shoes, a creamy white, boasted deep pink, needle-thin heels” and her lips were dyed to match her dress.^[8]

Mackie’s eyes widened when he saw her and he asked Eve, “Is that one of yours? She looks too fancy to be a cop.” Eve turned and thought he had a point. Garnet DeWinter looked too fancy to be a cop. Then again, she wasn’t one. “Forensic anthropologist. Bone doctor,” Eve added. In heels - scarlet stilts to match the body-hugging red dress. A statuesque woman, she carried an enormous bag. She’d changed her hair, Eve noted. Not the style so much, as she had it in her most usual sleek roll at the nape of her neck. But she’d gone sort of copper colored, which Eve had to admit looked good with her mocha-colored skin.^[1]
She told Eve she was going to go on a date with Mackie, and “you’re thinking he’s not my type.” Eve said “you’re standing there in hot-pink skyscraper heels and a matching lab coat over a white dress. He’s work boots, coverall, and calluses.” Face just a little smug, DeWinter examined the hot-pink tips of her fingers. “Did I mention he’s sweet, charming, and built? It’s just drinks, but I like his smile. And his delts.”^[9]

A lavender lab coat over a plum-colored, body-conscious sheath, with skyscraper heels that matched the coat. She’d tamed her hair, currently highlighted in copper, into a sleek twist that left her impressive face unframed.^[17]
