Maguire, Inspector
Mentioned in Vengeance in Death ([mid] November, 2058)
Introduction[]
After Marlena was murdered, Summerset went to the police for help and to seek justice for his daughter - he got Inspector Maguire.[1]
Descriptions[]
- Investigating officer with the Dublin police; his reputation was not one today’s department had pride in.[2]
- A “wrong cop.”[3]
History[]
- The six men who murdered Marlena were all linked to the same gambling organization based in Dublin; this organization was investigated for illegal activities no less than twelve times by local authorities and the ICCA (likely the IRCCA).[4]
- Maguire was associated with this organization; he was in their pocket.[5]
- After an investigation that lasted four and a half man hours, Maguire ruled it death by misadventure.[6]
- After his decision on Marlena’s death, Maguire was seen driving around Dublin Town with his wife who displayed her new diamond earrings with her new haircut.[7]
- Six months later, Maguire was pulled out of the River Liffey, his body filled with holes.[7]
Interesting Facts[]
- When asked to investigate Marlena’s murder, Maguire said, “Well, well; seems a father should keep a closer eye on a pretty young girl. Letting her run wild like that.”[8]
- Maguire’s conclusions were that she was an incorrigible, that there were illegals in her system, that she had fallen in a bad lot, who killed her.[7]
- Maguire rode a desk and used uniformed police as his runners and muscle.[8]
