Jacko’s – First mentioned in Echoes in Death, they did the catering for the Strazzas’s party[1], as well as for Drs. Lake and O’Connor, some of the Strazzas’s guests[2], the Patricks and On Screen Productions[3], and several other couples who were attacked or short-listed for being attacked by Kyle Knightly.[4]
They had been catering parties for more than 15 years, and Jacko mostly employed family, including his wife, Gula, his daughter, Xena, his son, Noah, his niece, Brooksie, his nephew, Hugh, Bryar Coleson, Elroy, Lacy, Marty, Nat, Rachel, Trevor, Anson Wright, and Zach.
Other mentions:
- In Leverage in Death, after Remarkable Rhoda confirmed with Eve that she knew all of the tenants in Jordan Banks’s building by sight and name, she told Eve two of the neighbors, Ms. Karlin and Mr. Howard, hosted a dinner party the evening Banks was killed, and it was catered by Jacko’s, with flowers by Urban Gardens. While Eve was reviewing the security feed, she identified some of Jacko’s catering staff.[5]
- In Connections in Death, Eve loaded up at Jacko’s before heading into Central so she could spread joy with cinnamon buns and Danishes. Everybody thought that meant Roarke was either coming in or sent the food, but Eve said “He’s not the only one who can think of stuff.”[6]
- Eve thanked and bribed people at the morgue and in the lab with bounty from Jacko’s in Forgotten in Death:[7]
- She gave Morris a couple of cinnamon buns.
- She bribed Dickhead with six sticky buns to get her the full and detailed analysis of the building material that was used to wall in Johara Murr’s pregnant body after death.
- She and Peabody shared a sticky bun while she listened to five minutes of new house talk.
- At least some of the breakfast food Roarke had delivered to Central in Desperation in Death was from Jacko’s; Eve recognized the sticky buns.[8]
