- He hadn’t seen his father in years - he left when Jamie was six and lived in the Morningside Community with his third wife, outside London[5]
- Electronics were a hobby and he made homemade devices[5] (more than that, Roarke said he had a “feel, an instinct that’s very rare”).[6]
- Murdered Alban at the end of Ceremony in Death.
- Wanted to be a cop and some hero worship of Roarke and Eve Dallas.
- Eve thought he would be a good cop.[7]
- Jamie did a little work for Roarke now and then. Roarke planned to take Eve’s old computer to Jamie as it would provide a unique learning tool for him.[8]
- He was on scholarship at Columbia. He received other offers from top-level colleges but attends Columbia so he can stay close to home and his mother.[9]
- He was working in one of Roarke’s R&D departments for the summer (June 2060).[9]
- Jamie made a deal with Roarke that he’d go to college first before joining the Academy, since Roarke was paying the school expenses the scholarship didn’t cover. Eve didn’t know about their arrangement[4] and, when she asked Roarke about it, he said she’d consider it a bribe; Roarke thought Jamie was “bloody brilliant” - but not as good as Roarke, though a good deal more honest.[10]
- He was friends with Deena MacMasters and last saw her two weeks before her murder, at Club Zero.[11]
- He ran the screen for the briefing before The Pleasure Academy raid in Desperation in Death; because he was close in age to the victims, Mira thought he would be able to help reassure and keep them calm when they were rescued. Eve wouldn’t let him in on the actual takedown, but he did the e-work in the van, providing information on occupants based on heat sources.[14]
- In Random in Death, he worked with EDD, assisting with identifying the killer.
