Nigel McEnroy date-raped her, and she left Perfect Placement after three months. Sylvia Brant arranged for her to be paid $100,000 since it wasn’t possible to prove there was rape.^[2]
She was alibied for the night of his murder - she and her beau were together, first meeting for dinner at Roscoe’s, and then catching some music at The Blue Note. He walked her home around midnight.
The last thing she remembered before waking up in McEnroy’s bedroom was being called into his office, where he apologized for being inappropriate, saying he’d misread signals and she was a valued member of the team. He gave her coffee, and she had a vague memory of walking out with him and feeling off, like she’d been drinking, but good drinking, like loose.
