- Childhood friends with Louise Dimatto, who found the body when she came to visit, along with her husband, Charles Monroe. Their parents had hoped Louise and Marcus would marry, but they didn’t suit that way. The whole family was at Louise and Charles’s wedding.
- His parents were killed a few weeks after their wedding, in a vehicular accident - rain-slick road, a semi lost control. overturned. Eight people were killed.
