Maxibus – The maxibus appeared and was mentioned in several books in the series. The first mention was in Naked in Death, where it had a humming electric motor.[1]

  • When its horn was blown, it let out an ear-stinging screech.[2]
  • Roarke would jump in front of a maxibus for Eve... they don’t go very fast.[3]
  • She used those hands to whip around a farting maxibus with a few layers of paint to spare.[4]
  • Maxibus with its humming electric motor...[5]
  • Another guy got run over by a maxibus a couple of days ago.[6]
  • In Vengeance in Death it was hyphenated: Eve “barely hissed when a maxi-bus lumbered across their path. Roarke punched for vertical, sending the car in a long sweeping rise that had Eve’s stomach pitching. they leapfrogged over the bus and dived for the street.” Also mentioned was that there was a maxi-bus lane[7]
  • Other mentions.[8]

Also mentioned in the series are the airbus (Eve “was following the rattling journey of an aging airbus hauling laborers not fortunate enough to work in the city or by home-links” from her window[9]; “overhead the early airbuses farted cheerfully”[10]; other mentions[11]), the microbus[12] and the bus.[13]
