- When Roarke visited the Penny Pig in Portrait in Death, Brian asked Mr. O’Leary if he saw who they had among them.[1]
- He recognized Roarke and mentioned that Roarke used to pinch wares from his shop when he was younger. He chased Roarke out with a broom more than once.[1]
- Roarke bought him a pint of beer.[2]
