- She worked a few blocks from Times Square and saw a bulletin about her son being killed by a sniper.
- She just kept calling out “Nate” and Commander Whitney put his coat around her since she ran out of her office without grabbing a coat, and took her to a nearby coffee shop he had cleared for interviewing witnesses to give her the official notification.
- It was Nate’s 17th birthday, and he was the second of the four murders that day, with a fifth nonfatal shot.
