Natural Order – It wasn’t what you’d call a church, though they managed to get that status, but they sure did preach. No mixed or same-sex marriages or relationships, they wanted to outlaw licensed companions, take women’s reproductive rights back a couple of centuries, ban all birth control but abstinence, and forbid premarital sex. They had their own island, and Gwen Huffman’s parents, Drs. Oliver and Paula Huffman, helped finance that. In Faithless in Death, Eve said, “Those people are crazy, lunatics.”[1] There are over ten thousand members in the tristate area (New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut), with just under six thousand in New York and just over two thousand in Manhattan. Members with violent crimes in their backgrounds total just over three thousand for tristate, and over 700 for Manhattan.[2]
