- She and her friend, who was equally laden with bags, were in front of a display window near Eve when she was waiting to be picked up by Roarke. They were cooing with the same adoration as Mavis cooing at Belle.
- She told her friend, “Those shoes! They’re absolutely beyond.”
- Her friend replied, “Oh God! And the bag. Do you see the bag, Nellie? It looks positively gooshy!”
- They went into the store to shop for shoes and purses.
