Personal Information[]
Homicide Information[]
- TOD: 13:21 (1:21 p.m.)
- Laser strike to the head, just under his cap
- Murdered by Willow Mackie
Interesting Facts[]
- He and Officer Sheridon Jacobs were patrolling Times Square when they saw Grabby Larry, an aging street thief, casing the tourists. As he went after him, he saw the tourist he was eyeing, a woman of about 70 with a bright red purse dangling from her arm, drop like a stone and told Jacobs to call the MTs. At that point a kid on an airboard in a small pack of kids on airboards went flying, taking out a trio of pedestrians like bowling pins and Russo saw blood bloom on the back of the kid’s bright blue jacket.
- He yelled for people to get down and take cover and went to cover the boy’s body to shield him from another attack, and was hit in the center of his forehead, a scant inch below the brim of his cap.
- Had been assigned to Times Square for four months and loved it because there was always something happening, always something to see.
