Interesting Facts[]
- Olivia, called “Livvy,” was staying at Dóchas with her mother when Roarke visited. After Louise Dimatto introduced him to the room at large, Livvy asked him why Dóchas had such a funny name.
- Livvy’s mother, a thin woman with bruises on her face, rushed over, picked Livvy up, and apologized to Roarke. When Roarke spoke to Livvy, she leaned to whisper in her mother’s ear that he talked pretty. Her mother said that she was only three and she never knew what she would say next. Roarke said that must be an adventure and explained that Dóchas meant hope in Gaelic.
- She asked Roarke if they could have ice cream again that night and he said, why not?
