Interesting Facts[]

  • She was the younger of the two girls.
  • She was giving Heather grief about flirting with a boy, Brady Mishner, as they walked in the door from school.
  • Piper saw the suspect before Christmas. She remembered her “dopey goggles and the lame-o hat” and that goofy coat, plus a black and white scarf and a bag from Artie’s, another stop they made that day (Eve showed her a still from the security feed at the Vid Galaxy).
  • The family went on their annual stocking-stuffer hunt the Saturday before Christmas and then had dinner at Angelo’s. She saw the killer in City Kitchen when she (Piper) was buying spice bags for Grand (Audrey) and she found those sugar spoons for her mother's coffee. She then saw the suspect at At Your Leisure, where she bought Heather frilly socks and saw her mother going gooey over a robe with blue checks that she and Heather later went back for to give her for Christmas.
  • It was their tradition - they baked cookies in the morning, then shopped, then ended the day with pizza at Angelo’s. Blaine and Audrey split a bottle of wine and got giggly on the walk home.
  • She wanted to be a writer like her mother, so she observed.
  • She told Eve she had reached third kup in tae kwon do, and Eve told her, "Blue belt, red tag. Nice. I’m fifth dan, currently studying with a grand master."

YANNIs[]

  • In the book, her sweatshirt proclaimed: “GIRLS R+ RULE,” which made no sense, but in the audio version, it was “GIRLS ROCK + RULE.”
  • In the audio version, Susan Ericksen called her “Pepper” once.
