Porta-sensor – Mentioned in Glory in Death. One of the sweepers did a thorough check of David Angelini's wardrobe with a porta-sensor, looking for bloodstains. Beaver traced the sensor, the arm of it wrapped over his left shoulder, down a thousand-dollar sport coat; the sensor hummed and beeped.[1]

Beaver shifted the bulk of the scanner, changed the program from clothing, and ran the funnel of the arm up the knife they had found - the scanner beeped then, when requested, spit out a square of paper dotted with fingerprints. It also picked up some blood on the blade but all the scanner could do was identify it, not tell how old it was.[2]

In Conspiracy in Death, Eve is annoyed at "the half-assed job the officers on scene [at Snooks's murder] had done with securing the area." She asks Peabody, "Why the hell didn't they finish running the sensors?" It's unclear if this is the same as porta-sensors, or the exact purpose of the sensors; Eve may also be referring to Sensor Bugs.[3]
