Seal-It – A sealant worn instead of gloves to protect the crime scene from investigator contamination. The investigator coated his/her hands and feet before entering this crime scene; Seal-It left a thin layer of residue on hands or feet where applied (comes in a small can) and a solvent is used to remove it entirely.[1]

Seal-It first appeared in Naked in Death when Dallas and Feeney “each took out a slim container, sprayed their hands front and back to seal in oils and fingerprints. At the doorway, Eve sprayed the bottom of her boots to slicken them so that she would pick up no fibers, stray hairs, or skin.”[2] (see also Field Kit)

It damaged clothing when applied: in Calculated in Death, Eve forgot her gloves, “but that was just as well as she’d have ruined yet another overpriced pair once she’d sealed up.”[3]
