Singer Family Developers – A development company founded by James Singer in the mid-twentieth century when he leveraged a loan from his father-in-law to purchase his first rental property, a three-story, sixteen-unit walk-up on the Lower West Side. He and his son, Robert James Singer (R.J.), expanded, developed, and built, and on his death by heart attack, R.J. and his wife, Elinor Bolton Singer, took over the business. When R.J. died of lung cancer, his wife ran the company until she retired and turned the reins over to her son, James Bolton Singer (J.B.), who had been CFO[1], who then turned the reins over to Bolton Kincade Singer, who was president and CEO in Forgotten in Death.[2] Alva Quirk’s body was found on one of their properties, Hudson Yards, where they were doing construction.[3]
