The Manor – A fancy boutique hotel in the West Village where Jerald Reinhold spent two nights after killing his parents and stealing their money and valuables in Thankless in Death. It looked just like that, something found in the English countryside and once owned by a wealthy earl. The gorgeous old brownstone, lovingly rehabbed by Roarke, boasted a wide portico entrance, fat urns of trailing flowers, and a liveried doorman in a royal blue and gold uniform and shiny knee boots.

The lobby resembled a large parlor, appointed in Old World perfection, all gleaming wood, glossy tile, the heavy bronze lighting and abundance of artfully arranged flowers. Rianna manned the front desk, at a long table in a high-backed leather chair the same color as the doorman's livery, in a simple and sleek black suit.

Jerry stayed in The Squire’s Suite, living it up and “eating like a king with a massive sweet tooth” with multiple gourmet meals from room service, premium champagne, minibar (eight Cokes, three waters, two jars of cashews, the Chocolate Dandies, the fruit gummies, and assorted liquor), and entertainment discs. While at the hotel, Jerry transferred all his parents’ money into accounts under his name. Those accounts were then cleaned out, in person, and converted to cash and cashier’s checks.

Joleen Mortimer had been the manager there for three years - she was the assistant manager for the previous owners, and Roarke had her take temporary positions at some of his other hotels during the six months it took to remodel The Manor, at which point he offered her the manager’s position. The other named staff member was Diego, the bellman.[1]

Eve and Roarke spent the night there after Jerry killed Lori Nuccio, reviewing the security discs from the Grandline Hotel and sleeping a little. Roarke said, “Manor guests prefer the look of Old World, with the convenience of the new,” and the room they stayed in reflected that.[2]
