Harvo was a hair and fiber specialist in the NYPSD crime lab. She was introduced as the Queen of Hair, the Fiber Princess, and the Goddess of Speed and Efficiency in Visions in Death[4], then became Goddess of Fiber in Memory in Death[5], and the Queen of Hair and Fiber in Desperation in Death[6]
Personality[]
Interesting Facts[]
- Chewed gum[5]
- Wore size seven shoes/socks and was not pleased with “size seven to nine” in sock sizing since it meant she always had too much length in the foot.[8]
- Her father was “head of forensics at Quantico”[1] (probably the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia)
Harvo's Outfits/Appearance[]
Visions in Death[]
- Her skin was the color of milk powder against those bright green eyes and the thin slash of mouth dyed the same screaming red as her hair. She wore the hair in a tuft, maybe three inches high and straight up from the crown of her head. She wore a baggy black tunic in lieu of a lab coat. Her nails were short, and painted in thin, diagonal stripes of black and red.[9]
Memory in Death[]
- Her red hair was stiff with spikes that contrasted with her pale, almost translucent skin. There were little Santas dangling from her ears. Her nails were painted Christmas red with little green trees.[8]
Born in Death[]
- Her short, spiked red hair was covered with a protective cap painted with naked men. She wore thick-soled, high-topped black and green sneakers.[10]
Chaos in Death[]
- Spiky red hair and tired eyes, she pointed a finger tipped with a metallic purple nail.[11]
Calculated in Death[]
- Spiky red hair.[12]
Thankless in Death[]
- She had changed her hair. She’d gone for the short, straight bowl, almost identical to what Peabody used to wear. But she’d opted for shimmering ice blue. She had tossed a white lab coat over a purple skin-suit, added a trio of dangling silver earrings to one ear and a series of tiny, purple studs to run up the other. She wore clear knee boots that showed off toes painted the same color as her hair and a temp foot tattoo in the shape of a flamingo.[13]
Brotherhood in Death[]
- She had a tiny green hoop at the center point of her left eyebrow and hair colored “Lava Flow.”[14]
Leverage in Death[]
- Currently short, spiked into lethal points and blazing orange, and a heart-shaped blue stone on the left side of her nose.[15]
Vendetta in Death[]
- She wore what could be termed a lab coat providing your definition thereof stretched wide, as her version was a bunch of inexplicable symbols scrolled over a field of bright spring green. Her own hair, drawn back in a little bouncy tail, matched the field, and a tiny glittery green stud winked on the side of her nose. (The “inexplicable symbols” were the periodic table - “Better life, and better death, through chemistry.”)[16]
Shadows in Death[]
- Spring-green hair, spiked up.[17]
Forgotten in Death[]
- She wore white baggies and a white sleeveless tee - tame for her, if you discounted the figure of a woman on the back of her shirt flying through what appeared to be a meteor storm above the planet. Her glittery blue toes sparkled through her clear boots, and she had blue nail polish and short blue spiky hair. The bold red lettering on the front of her shirt read, “GIRL GEEKS SAVE THE WORLD!”[2]
Abandoned in Death[]
- Her purple hair had a scatter of green highlights, maybe to match the purple low-tops with green laces. She’d continued the theme with purple pants and a green tee with a bright white 42 emblazoned on the back. (42 for the answer to all the questions in the universe, not for Jackie Robinson.)[18]
- Purple still ruled the day, but she married it with candy pink in baggies with purple cuffs that folded inches above her ankles and showed off purple high-tops with pink laces.[19]
Desperation in Death[]
- She’d kept the purple hair, at least on the top and a thick, eyelash-skimming fringe, but had gone pale pink on the rest. Rather than a lab coat, she wore a pink T-shirt and purple baggies, purple sneaks with pink laces, and wore purple nail polish.[6]
Random in Death[]
- The Queen of Hair and Fiber had a chin-length bob of blue hair today. She wore a pink T-shirt where what looked like a rat in a lab coat held a smoking petri dish and wore a maniacal grin. Below it read: “BEWARE THE LAB RATS! THEY’RE SMARTER THAN YOU.” With it she wore blue baggies and pink air sneaks.[3]
YANNI[]
- She was called “Harpo” in Thankless in Death, Missing in Death, Kindred in Death[20], Chaos in Death, and Delusion in Death.
