Villa de Lago – Located in Italy, it was the spa where Julianna Dunne, using the name Josephine Dorchester, went to pamper herself in Reunion in Death. Signore Bartelli was head of security[1] and Sophia Vincenti was the reservations manager, with Elena as her assistant[2] until she warned Dunne, thus allowing her to escape. She was reassigned to a lesser position where she would have no contact with guests.[3]
Roarke owned 51% of it, and the estate it was on used to be owned by a count.[4] The old estate had pink and white stone, a spread of grass and gardens, and blue gems that were pools and fountains, and the scent of the night-blooming jasmine filled the air when Eve and Roarke arrived. There was a gracious lakeside entrance, with a portico smothered with vines that scented the air with vanilla. Double glass doors with a portrait of the villa whisked open at their approach. They moved through a cool sitting area, stylishly plush with color, where the sunlight dribbled in like spilled gold through arched windows. It caught and glinted on the teardrop-shaped crystals on the many tiers of a chandelier. Outside on a stone terrace, a couple in white robes strolled by, arm in arm.[5]
