West End Financial Center – The bank where Debra Bernstein opened an account before Brant Fitzhugh’s murder in Encore in Death. She opened the account June 19 with the requisite $100, Maeve Spindal wired $5,000 to it June 20, Steven K. Lewis wired $5,000 to it June 22, and David Quaid wired $5,000 to it for the final deposit.
The bank is tiny, with two human tellers behind shockproof shields, one of whom (Dory) was obsessed with clones and therefore gave Eve all the information she needed without requiring a warrant. The security droid was named Mike, and there was another human worker sitting at a desk scowling into his comp, presumably named Mr. Jabbot. The other teller was named Jerry.[1]
Note: June 19, 2061 was a Sunday, so the account was either opened online or didn’t line up with reality. The third deposit, which was done “last Friday,” was after June 22 (since that was the date of the second deposit) and before June 28 (the day Fitzhugh was murdered), but it was unclear what the exact date was.
