Interesting Facts[]
- She called 9-1-1 after overhearing Lawrence Piper killing his wife, Marcia, and seeing the cleaners Natural Order sent to remove the body and other evidence.[2]
- She saw Eve in Tribeca earlier that day, interviewing Marcia and recognized her from the news.[2]
- 9-1-1 Operator Harris stayed on the phone with her after contacting Eve at home, and while Eve and Roarke were driving to Moore and Greenwich to pick her and her son up to bring them to Dóchas.[2]
- She was seventeen weeks pregnant and still nursing Gabe.
- Harley wasn’t too violent with her - he slapped her or took away privileges - one hour of screen per day or one hour reading as long as her housework is done. Other women on the block reported on them to gain extra privileges.
- Her friend Gina Dawber, who lived across the street, used to laugh a lot but was caught trying to escape and had a black eye after. Gina told her how to get a little money from the marketing by returning unopened items and getting cash instead of having it put back on the debit card. She hid the money in one of Gabe’s clean diapers because her husband didn’t change him - that’s a mother’s job. She bought a clone ’link, which was what she used to call 9-1-1.
- Harley was staying at the compound in CT during retreat, unlike Larry Piper, who came home and beat his wife to death.
- She overheard Larry yelling at his wife and beating her, and then it went quiet. After that, a black panel van drove up and two men got out and removed Marcia’s body on a stretcher. Then Larry loaded the kids in his SUV and left, and then a larger van came and four or five people got out, rolling trollies. They were there at least two hours and she heard machines, like big vacuums, and saw them coming out with big bags and tossing them into the back of the van.
- When they had gone and all the lights on the block were out, she packed what she could without turning on any lights, checked on Gabe, and took him and called 9-1-1.
